剧情：张一健（马国明 饰）与范子妤（杨怡 饰）婚后生活甜蜜，子妤更已怀孕。有一天，医院发生灾难应变，其中有伤者感染传染病，令当日负责手术的子妤被迫接受隔离，幸好最后靠病理学家洛文笙（吴启华 饰）解决传染病事件。子妤虽然脱困，可是旧病忽然复发，需要接受电疗，无法保住胎儿，一健、子妤唯有忍痛决定流产。手术完成后，子妤表面释怀，可是一健知道爱妻只是强忍伤痛。祸不单行，一健手术病人的病情突然急转直下，病人家属认为是医疗失误，向一健追究责任。一健怕子妤担心，隐瞒事件。与此同时，一健母亲黄笑莺（黄淑仪 饰）发现类风湿关节炎日渐恶化。一健于家庭及工作的双重压力夹击下，焦虑指数急升。子妤因为接受电疗而暂别医生的工作，放假疗养。期间，她反思工作与人生的目的，还因教导杨沛聪（罗仲谦 饰）进行微创手术，重拾返回工作岗位的冲劲，实践医生使命。子妤为了让一健放下工作及家庭重担，明白自己的限制，开始审视身体情况，加上得到文笙的启发，终于下定决心，毅然转修病理科，重新开始。相反，一健以为子妤面对流产及担心不能再成为外科医生，因而自暴自弃、放弃理想，于是反对子妤转修病理科。二人各持己见，冲突频生，最后两人竟然决定分开冷静……
