剧情：该片以沙漠之中受到外星不明物体冲击的梅罗市作为故事背景，主人公林赛乐因为在放学回家路上无意中收留了宇宙中最具威力的武器——闪电猫，从而招致各种离奇危险的事件频频发生。 为了夺得闪电猫，各方势力蠢蠢欲动，宇宙间最为强大的邪恶力量十大恶魔团更是轮番上阵，使尽各种武力与手段，在城市中不断制造危机与变乱。 而在危急之下，林赛乐却意外地与闪电猫合体从而诞生了极具威力的极光超能力，拥有了无比的速度与能量，并先后结识了睿智而幽默的健忘老爷爷诺兰大师、同样是学生身份的慕容集团继承人-慕容君豪以及一直以为自己得了怪病的超能力女孩金妍娜。 他们在诺兰大师的领导下，共同组成了极光侠战队，一起携手化解城市中的危机与麻烦，共同守护城市家园与这里的人民。
