剧情：同时拥有显赫出身和悲痛过去的卡路尔·阿巴斯（花江夏树 配音），以庶民的身份和无血缘的妹妹艾丽尔（竹达彩奈 配音）登上伊斯拉，前往凯格斯高中飞行科学习。伊斯拉是一座漂浮在半空中的陆地，由巴雷特洛斯共和国等三个国家共同管理。在动力的驱动下，伊斯拉开启了遥远的征程，前往传说中的圣泉寻找“天空的尽头”。然而仅有极少数领导层成员知道，伊斯拉此行还有另一个不可告人的使命。卡路尔偶然邂逅了贵族女孩克莉亚·库鲁斯（悠木碧 配音），他们彼此互生好感，并结成飞行训练搭档，但卡路尔却不知晓他和这个女孩有着怎样痛苦的孽缘。满怀理想的少男少女遨游长空，等待他们的是何等严酷的命运…… 本片根据犬村小六（小说）、森泽晴行（插画）创作的轻小说改编。
